Alison Rode serves as office manager. She and Dr. Rode have been married for 40 plus years and she has assisted directly in the practice since 1998. A former trainer, instructor and dressage and event rider, she retired to the less risky life of administration while she and Dr. Rode raised their two children, Nathan and Amelia. Now both kids are grown, out of the house and pursuing their own successful (non-veterinary) careers. But Alison still has her hands full keeping tabs on Dr. Rode and the rest of the practice.

Marcia Brody joined the Clarke Equine staff in 2021 after being a client for several years. She assists Alison in the office and with the horses as required. Her professional background is as a writer, editor and governmental affairs specialist. She holds a graduate degree from George Washington University and did her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
When not at Clarke Equine, Marcia can be found in the driver’s box for her commercial carriage company, Carriages of the Capital, which concentrates on weddings and special events.
Marcia has been a longtime fan of the rare Cleveland Bay horse, and breeds them for eventing and foxhunting. She runs the Mid-Atlantic Cleveland Bay Network and manages shows and promotional events each year on behalf of the breed.
When not at Clarke Equine or on a carriage, Marcia enjoys foxhunting and raising her young horses. She is also usually supervised by one or more of her Russell Terriers.
